We offer Full-Day and Half Day trips on streams and stillwaters tailored to suit your needs. Boat, float tube, and walk/wade excursions are available with our knowledgeable and experienced guides. We can legally guide more water in the Reno Tahoe area than any other guide service. Guided trips should be both enjoyable and educational, so make sure you let us know if there is something in particular you're looking for. Please note that we observe a strict "catch-and-release-only" policy.
Pyramid Lake
Located 45 minutes Northwest of Reno Pyramid Lake is world renowned for its huge cutthroat trout. The Reno fly shop and its guides are the longest standing fly fishing guide service at Pyramid Lake. Our clients have been catching 10+ pound Cutthroat trout for years. A 10 pound giant is a possibility on every trip. Season is October to June with peak season being mid February to late May.
Davis Lake Guided Fly Fishing 2010
May and June on Davis lake are usually awesome. Davis is known in May to have great Blood Midge hatches along with Callibaetis and smaller midges. June is world renown for the Davis Damsel hatch. This year we have added guided boat trips on Davis to our arsenal of local waters. This is the third season at Davis since the pike were removed and Davis should be back to its former self. The fish have had three years to grow and should be eager to feed on the abundant food sources in the lake. The calendar is filling up fast so if you are interested in a trip to Davis let us know. The Rates are $350 for one or two anglers. The day starts at 8:00 am and we fish until the hatch is over in the afternoon.
Our guide service has permits to fish the most water in the region. It is very important to be able to fish anywhere. We go where the fish are. This gives us a huge advantage over other guide services in the area. We have the most options and 25 years of experience in the Reno Tahoe area.
