The Truckee, Carson and Walker Rivers provide our area with excellent stream fishing opportunities for the fly angler. The special regulation sections on each of these streams produce some outstanding trout each year. Smaller streams and creeks in the Sierra also provide great sport for the beginner as well as the seasoned angler looking for a new challenge.
Furthermore, most Nevada streams have no closed season so there are year-round fishing possibilities here. The Reno-Tahoe area has a wide variety of stillwater fishing as well. Larger lakes like Eagle, Davis, Stampede, and Frenchman as well as small intimate impoundments such as Milton and Spooner, provide the boat, float tube and wade fisherman with many of choices. During the winter and spring months,
huge Lahontan cutthroats cruise the cold water shallows of Pyramid Lake in search of food and in preparation for spawning. Here a fly fisherman has the opportunity to land the trout of a lifetime!
