 Smith Creek Ranch is a 2,800 acre working cattle ranch. Owned and operated by the Hendrix family, Smith Creek Ranch offers some of the states finest trophy trout fishing. The Ranch is situated at an elevation of 6,600' on the eastern slope of the towering 9,973' Desatoya Peak in central Nevada. The Ranch is only 2 1/2 hours east of Reno off US Highway 50 and 5 hours north of Las Vegas.
 World Class Trophy Trout Fishing is offered on a private six acre lake, full of fish in the 3 - 10 pound class. In years with a favorable snow pack other fly fishing opportunities on the Ranch include, a brushy secluded, mountain stream, which offers some fun creek fishing, and a 25-acre lake with a good population of native brown trout in the 12-20 inch class. To ensure the future of our trophy trout fishery we maintain a catch and release, barbless hook fly fishing only policy.
While fishing at Smith Creek Ranch enjoy the comfort of country living when staying at the  Smith Creek Ranch House situated within casting distance of the 6 acre lake. The Ranch House is fully equipped with amenities for the "do-it yourself " angler to make your stay at Smith Creek Ranch comfortable and memorable. Guide and meal packages are also available no a limited basis, for the angler who would like some instruction or would like to relax after his or her fishing day and leave the rest to us.
